How a freelance writer is asked to be on the reality show Dragon's Den (answer: I wasn't a freelance writer back then)

I was asked to appear on CBC’s Dragons Den (for more info on this, see my previous post). I actually wrote a little article about it for the local paper a few years back, and I will post that excerpt here.
